Eclipse Of The Moon
Saw the eclipse of the moon today ...
Looks like a orange table tennis ball up in the sky ...

Below is the full report of the eclipse :

Most of Eastern Australia will be well placed to witness a total lunar eclipse on the evening of Tuesday, August 28. Mark Rigby, Curator of the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, explains how to make the most of the event from Brisbane.

No two eclipses are the same and, during some, the Full Moon can take on a lovely reddish colour, although sometimes it may be very dark. A lunar eclipse is well suited to viewing with the unaided eye, although binoculars or a telescope do enhance the view. No particular viewing location is necessary, although the Moon will be low in the eastern sky early in the event.
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow. This occurs at Full Moon when the Sun, Earth and Moon are in a straight line when viewed from above the plane of the Solar System. However, at the time of most Full Moons, the Moon usually is just above or below the plane of the Earth’s orbit around the Sun and it therefore misses an encounter with the Earth’s long tapering shadow.

There are two parts to the Earth’s shadow, the outer penumbra and the inner, darker umbra. From within the umbral shadow an observer would see the Sun completely blocked or eclipsed by the Earth. From within the penumbra, part of the Sun would be visible and one would see a partial eclipse of the Sun caused by the Earth.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the darker umbra. However, this does not mean that the Moon disappears, as some of the Sun’s light is refracted or bent around the limb (edge) of the Earth and then it faintly illuminates the Moon. Since the blue component of the Sun’s white light is scattered by the Earth’s atmosphere, it is the red component that reaches the Moon and therefore colours the eclipsed Moon. While the eclipsed Moon sometimes can be a noticeable reddish colour, it is sometimes grey or dark brown. The clarity of the Earth’s atmosphere can influence the colour as well, e.g. effects of volcanic dust or smoke from major fires.

On August 28, the Moon will be rising around sunset and will begin entering the penumbra at 5.52 pm. Nothing will be noticeable to the average observer at this time and for observers in western Queensland and in the far north the Moon will not be up, but they will not miss anything.

The real “action” commences at 6.51 pm when the Moon begins to enter the darker umbra and more of the Moon will progressively darken until 7.52 pm when all of the Moon will be in the umbra – the total lunar eclipse phase has then commenced and hopefully some colour will begin to be noticeable during this phase lasting 91 minutes. Mid eclipse will occur at 8.37 pm and totality will end at 9.23 pm. The partial phase will end at about 10.24 pm, when it will look like the eclipse is over. In fact, the Moon is not completely clear of the Earth’s lighter penumbral shadow until about 11.22 pm.

Notice the difference in the illumination on the Moon during the totality. The northern part of the Moon will pass deeper into the Earth’s umbral shadow and will therefore appear darker.

A Familiar Name
Saw a familiar name on my msn list ...
Been a long time since I last saw that name ...
A name which brought me back beautiful memories ...
A name which I get so excited everytime it is online ...
A name which nudges me everytime I am online ...
A name which always forces me to switch on my webcam so that she can take a look at me ...
A name which encourages me to go study by threatening to burn my laptop ...
A name which is always there for me whenever I am down ...
A name which I always call out to everytime I call her ...
A name which is so outstanding on my phone list ...
A name which is the reason why I bought a big bag of chocolates just for her ...
A name which has such a lovely voice ...
A name which is the reason why I can't wait to go back to Singapore ...
A name which is why I love her ...

Happy moments are just like fireworks ...
So beautiful and spectacular when it is up on the sky ...
When the moment the first one came up ,
Everyone will say "Wahhh , its so nice !"
Which will be followed by a series of more fireworks ...
At that moment ,
I made a wish ...
"How I wish this fireworks display will never end"
But somehow ,
It will just end suddenly ...
From a sky full of colors and happiness to a sky full of blackness ...
That's the end of the "Happy Moments" display ...

I was so tempted to nudge her and say "Hi" to her but I do not know whats holding me back ... most probably is that things have changed and it is not like how it is suppose to be few months ago ...

Simple Saturday
Had a simple yet enjoyable Saturday ...

When most people prefer to spend their weekend going clubbing, boozing away, playing texas holden at a friend's hse, shopping in town (shops in Brisbane closes at 5pm so no chance to shop) or catching a movie, I prefer to spend it in a more simpler way : BBQ @Ronald's House ...

We just bought our BBQ stuff from COLES and went back to set up a mini BBQ pit in their bacony by using aluminium tray ... played winning eleven while we wait for the charcoal to get "ready" ... dun noe why keep on losing to Ronald ... Roar ~! When everything is done, we just sat outside and happily bbq our meat away ... shoik ~ Having a BBQ session at the balcony during winter in Brisbane is simply fantastic ... Eating our sizzling hot chicken wing when the cold wind is blowing at us .... woohOO ~ It just feel so nice to have a BBQ session with your old friends on a Saturday night talking all sorts of rubbish and laughing our ass off ... Simply loving it ~! After which we watched Liverpool vs Sunderland and Arsenal vs Man City before they drove me back home ....

How fanciful do you want ur life to be ? I dun noe much about u guys but for me ... SIMPLICITY works best for me :)

Sleepless Night
Its 4:12am here in Brisbane ...

And I can't get to sleep ...

Not that I am not tired but just that I don't feel like sleeping ...

"I Love Stress . Stress Love Me ... We Are Happy Family ~!" This tune has been looping thru my head for quite some time and its only freaking Week 5 only ! Can't believe it man ... projects are piling up and mid sem exam is coming soon ... really need to be more focus ~ My productivity rate at home is close to zero all thanks to 恶作剧之吻 ... Lolx ~ Its a damn addictive show la ... cannot stop watchng ... the lead character is cute lar ... hehe ~ Seems like I need to force myself to go to library to work on my assignments or else sure mati lo ... haha ~

No internet equals to no distraction and i am sure its works for me man ... met Ronald in the library to finish up my tutorial and judging from the progress that I have made , I think I need to make QUT's library as my 2nd home ... Lolx ~ Brisbane has been raining non-stop this week and its freaking cold lar ... somemore I had to ride my scooter back home ... Brrrrrrr ~ COLD !! Oh ... just in case you guys didn't know about it , my wish of riding a scooter have finally come true !! Its so cute and slow (60km/h is the fastest I can go) ... will post some pics up when I have the time ... haha ~ The rules here in Brisbane is pretty funny .... with an international driving license , you are allowed to drive a 50cc scooter ... quite dumb rite ? But who cares man ... as long as I can ride my scooter ... I will be the happiest person on Earth ... Wohoooooooo ~

Few nights ago, I had a really nice dream though I can't really recall what is it all about ... I just felt so happy when I woke up ... isn't it a good thing that everytime when you wake up , you feel so happy ? Hmmm ... I just hope that this dream would never end ... hmmm ... Oh well, dreams are just dreams and they can never come true ... Lolx ~

I went Habour Town last Saturday and guess what ? I bought a pair of nike canvas shoes ... Lolx ~ Before the trip , I told myself not to buy anything but that pair of shoes is just simply irresistable la ... Hehe ~ Now I have 6 pairs of shoes in my house la ... how am I going to tell my mum when I go back to Singapore ? I bet my mum will ask me this question "Boy ah , how come you need so many pairs of shoes ar ? Are you a freaking caterpillar ? " Someone please teach me how to answer this question ... Wahaha ~ And on top of that , I have bought 7 caps ... Die la ~ Which she will most likely ask me this question "Is it a new fashion sense in Brisbane to wear 7 caps at one go on your head ?" Worst still , I still have a few months before I head back to Singapore and I am sure there will be more to come ... Lolx ~

SOMEONE PLEASE CHOP OFF MY HANDS AND LEGS SO THAT I CAN'T GO SHOPPING !!!
